FLUORODYN COATING THP-1000

Powłoka chemoodporna

Fluorodyn Coating THP-1000 is an innovative product ensuring anti-corrosion protection and protection of surfaces exposed to work under heavy industrial conditions. It finds applications wherever resistance to aggressive chemical agents is required.

THP-1000 is produced based on Viton®, a patented mixture of fluoroelastomers developed by DuPont Dow – a global leader in the chemical industry.

In contrast to other products of this type, Fluorodyn Coating THP-1000 is distinguished by ease of application, elasticity and short drying time. Thanks to its ready-to-use form, it can be applied by means of a brush, roller or spray gun without the need for transfer to another container. Thanks to the application of a can that can be closed multiple times, after work is finished, the product will be suitable for reuse in the future.

Another feature distinguishing Fluorodyn Coating THP-1000 is its resistance to nearly all acids and hydrocarbons, including nitric, sulphuric and hydrochloric acid. It is also resistant to aliphatic, aromatic and halogen-derivative hydrocarbons, hot oil, hot acid and temperature up to +244°C. It also works perfectly under atmospheric conditions without letting through UV rays or ozone.

Thanks to its physical and chemical properties, Fluorodyn Coating THP-1000 will work perfectly when protecting and maintaining containers for chemical substances, gasoline, Diesel fuel, naphtha, jet fuel, various types of oils and automotive coolants, which could cause severe damage to the substrate and poison the environment if spilled.

The chemically resistant Fluorodyn Coating THP-1000 does not crack, delaminate and continuously remains elastic, and in the case of damage, quick and easy repair is possible.

Fluorodyn Coating THP-1000 is an innovative product of the highest quality. It deals with the biggest challenges when it comes to the fight against corrosion and chemical aggressiveness. It will work wherever other products of this type fail.

Examples of applications:

THP-1000 coating made with Viton® consists in 26% of solid substances, making it easy to use.

In combination with Fluorodyn Caulk sealant, it forms a non-permeable, elastic and hermetic surface.

THP-1000 coating is black in color.

Coated surface per liter of product:
Available capacities:
Layer thickness, millimeters (mm)
Coated surface, square meters (m2)
Surface preparation:

The surface must be thoroughly cleaned. Coat a test area in order to check adhesion. Prepare the surface according to the following guidelines:

Steel/metals: Before sand blasting, remove oils and lubricants with detergent, then wash with clean water. All steel surfaces should be sanded to whiteness of the metal. Dust and sand particles should be removed. Prior to application, the surface should previously be rubbed with MEK (methyl ethyl ketone).

Elastic materials: Rubber, plastic, woven fabric, etc. should be cleaned of contaminants on their surface.

Concrete surfaces: Remove loose contaminants. If the surface is dirty, contaminated or has prior coatings, etc., cleaning with water or sandblasting are recommended.

Methods of application:

Before application, the product should be mixed precisely.

The Viton® coating can be applied by means of a: brush, roller or sprayed (spray gun recommended).

The product dries within 30 minutes. Additional layers may be applied every hour, until the desired thickness is reached.

For maximum protection, several thin layers of the product should be applied.

After the final layer is laid, leave until dry for 48 hours.

Vulcanization of the surface can be achieved through indirect heating with dry air at 120°C temperature for about an hour.

If possible, gradual hardening is recommended. The recommended temperature increase is 10°C per 30 minutes, until evaporation.

ATTENTION: Rapid temperature increase causes bubbles to form.

The product can be removed using MEK (methyl ethyl ketone).

Shelf life:

THP-1000 can be stored for an unspecified time. If opened and unused, the product should be sealed tightly in the packaging for future use.

Safety notes:

The product is an eye irritant. Repeated exposure may cause drying or cracking of skin. Fumes may cause drowsiness and dizziness.

Store the container in a well-ventilated place. Do not store near ignition sources – do not smoke tobacco. Avoid contaminating eyes. Apply precautions preventing electrostatic discharges. Apply only in well-ventilated rooms.

Products are not resistant to: ketones, strong bases, amines, esters.

Generally speaking, Fluorodyn™ Caulk made with Viton®, THP-1000, THP-2000, THA-3000 are advanced products resistant to aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, halogen-derivative hydrocarbons, hot oils, hot acids, hot water and steam, temperature up to +244°C. After drying, they have enhanced resistance to nearly all chemical substances, including nitric, sulphuric and hydrochloric acids. These products protect against damage resulting from the influence of atmospheric factors and ozone.

Modern industry poses many challenges that our products will face unflinchingly. Use them as the first recourse, since they are an ideal solution.
