Fluorodyn Adhesive THA-3000

Klej do Vitonu

Fluorodyn™ Adhesive THA-3000 is a dual-component adhesive based on Viton®, a patented mixture of fluoroelastomers developed by DuPont Dow – a global leader in the chemical industry. It is applied in heavy-duty industrial environments, where resistance to high working temperature and aggressive chemical agents is required.

Thanks to a dedicated accelerator and special formula, the dual-component Fluorodyn™ Adhesive THA-3000 is a product designed to accelerate drying time as much as possible, even at room temperature.

In contrast to other products of this type available on the market, it is distinguished by ease of application, elasticity and short drying time. Thanks to a multi-close can, the product can be reused in the future, as long as it hasn’t already bonded to the accelerator.

Another feature distinguishing Fluorodyn™ Adhesive THA-3000 is its resistance to nearly all acids and hydrocarbons, including nitric, sulphuric and hydrochloric acid. It is also resistant to aliphatic, aromatic and halogen-derivative hydrocarbons, hot oil, hot acid and temperature up to +244°C.
It works perfectly under

atmospheric conditions, without letting through UV rays or ozone. This product is suitable for maintenance of containers intended for chemical substances, i.e.: gasoline, Diesel fuel, naphtha, jet fuel, various types of oils and automotive coolants.

Fluorodyn™ Adhesive THA-3000 is an innovative product of the highest quality. It deals with the biggest challenges when it comes to the fight against corrosion and chemical aggressiveness. It will work wherever other products of this type fail.

Surface preparation

The surface must be thoroughly cleaned. Coat a test area in order to check adhesion. Prepare the surface according to the following guidelines:

Steel/metals: Before sand blasting, remove oils and lubricants with detergent, then wash with clean water. All steel surfaces should be sanded to whiteness of the metal. Dust and sand particles should be removed. Prior to application, the surface should previously be rubbed with MEK (methyl ethyl ketone).

Elastic materials: Rubber, plastic, woven fabric, etc. should be cleaned of contaminants on their surface.

Concrete surfaces: Remove loose contaminants. If the surface is dirty, contaminated or has prior coatings, etc., cleaning with water or sandblasting are recommended.

Methods of application

The accelerator is attached to every packaging. The accelerator must be poured into the packaging holding the adhesive.

Mix both components together for approx. 5-7 minutes. After mixing, wait 10 minutes. After that, start application of the adhesive.

Apply generously to the surface using a brush. Join surfaces while the adhesive is still wet – the adhesive bonds quickly.

The product can be washed off with MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) or MIBK (methyl isobutyl ketone) immediately after joining.

Clamp in place for 17-24 hours. A longer drying time may be necessary in the case of large surfaces.

Product hardening

The adhesive hardens after 17-24 hours have passed from application. Final hardening can be achieved through indirect heating with dry air at a temperature of 120-150°C for about one hour. If possible, gradual hardening is recommended. The recommended temperature increase is 10°C per 30 minutes, until evaporation. ATTENTION: Rapid temperature increase causes bubbles to form.

Product storage

The adhesive mixed with the accelerator is suitable for use for 8 hours. Unmixed, it can be stored for an unspecified time.

Safety notes

The product is an eye irritant. Repeated exposure may cause drying or cracking of skin. Fumes may cause drowsiness and dizziness.

Store the container in a well-ventilated place. Do not store near ignition sources – do not smoke tobacco. Avoid contaminating eyes. Apply precautions preventing electrostatic discharges. Apply only in well-ventilated rooms.

Products are not resistant to: ketones, strong bases, amines, esters.

Generally speaking, Fluorodyn™ Caulk made with Viton®, THP-1000, THP-2000, THP-3000 are advanced products resistant to aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, halogen-derivative hydrocarbons, hot oils, hot acids, hot water and steam, temperature up to +244°C. After drying, they have enhanced resistance to nearly all chemical substances, including nitric, sulphuric and hydrochloric acids. These products protect against damage resulting from the influence of atmospheric factors and ozone.

Modern industry poses many challenges that our products will face unflinchingly. Use them as the first recourse, since they are an ideal solution.
